Why we do not publish a list of Ranchi IT companies

You searched for a list, so it is fair to explain why this page does not give one. A list written by a company that is itself on the list cannot be neutral. Many lists found online are paid placements, are years out of date, or include firms that have closed or changed their number. And a list does not know what you need: a school that wants fee software and a shop that wants a network installed need different companies.

What helps more is a short method for building your own shortlist of three to five names, and a table that lets you compare them on the same facts. That is what this page gives you. MATROP can be one of the names, and we fill in our own row below.

Five sources for building your shortlist

Google Maps and business reviews, read critically

Search on Google Maps and look at the businesses that come up. Reviews help, but read them carefully. A review that mentions a real project ("they set up our billing and trained two staff") is worth more than ten one-line five-star ratings. Look at the dates: a burst of reviews in one week says less than steady reviews over years. Read the low ratings too, and see whether the company replied and fixed the problem.

The MCA company search

If a firm says it is a private limited company, you can check it on the Ministry of Corporate Affairs website. Search by the company name or CIN and look at the company status, the date of incorporation and the registered office. Do not rely on the brand name alone; ask for the exact legal name that will appear on the invoice. A sole proprietor or partnership will not appear in this search, which is not wrong in itself, but you should know which kind of business you are dealing with.

Referrals from organisations like yours

Ask another school principal, a pharmacist in the same market or a friend who runs a similar office which IT company they use. Do not stop at the name. Ask what went wrong in the first month and how quickly it was fixed. That answer tells you more about support than any brochure.

A visit to the office

Ranchi is small enough to visit two or three offices in a day. A visit shows you whether the company has a working office, who you would deal with, and whether the people who demo the software are the same people who will set it up and train your staff.

Live work you can open

Ask each company for a website you can open, a system you can see working, or a written case study. For example, our case studies describe two platforms we built for Ranchi businesses. Live work is easier to judge than screenshots.

Print this page or copy these columns into a spreadsheet. Fill one row for each company you are seriously considering. Our row is filled in as an example, with facts you can check yourself.

Add a last column for your own notes: what felt unclear, which questions were not answered, and any payment request to a personal account. That last one is a reason to drop a name.

How to narrow five names down to two

Once the table has a few rows, use it to cut the list in a fixed order. This keeps the decision about facts, not about who spoke most confidently.

1. Remove names you cannot verify. No clear legal name, no office you can visit, or no invoice in a business name.
2. Remove names that do not do your main job. A marketing agency is not the right first call for hospital software, and a software firm may not install your network. Our page on the different kinds of IT companies in Ranchi explains who does what.
3. Ask the rest for a demo with your own sample. Bring a real bill, fee receipt or register page and see how it looks on their system.

5. Call one existing client of each, if the company can put you in touch, and ask about the first month after go-live.
